As a result of a series of complicated real-estate trades my partner and I from New Mexico obtained a house in Clayton, Missouri.  Clayton is a premier but exclusive sub-market of the St. Louis metro area.  The deed to us was recorded about April 1, 2008 and, under our arrangement with the seller, possession was about 3 weeks later.  The primary risk of our ownership was that our business purpose was liquidation; not use or investment.  We were willing to be flexible and results-oriented in our approach to liquidate the asset. But the entrenched real-estate professionals we contacted for the Clayton sub-market were treating us like kindergartners.   They complained about the arrangement we had with the seller and the work that the seller agreed to do during his move-out. We understood the marketing would be tough due to problems with real-estate, banking and local conditions.  A springtime listing of a house in a premier area was favorable but the outlook beyond that was very uncertain.  We needed quick results and a turnkey arrangement since we are out-of-towners and our financing arrangement to carry the asset was not permanent.  When we met the members of the team associated with Real Estate a la Carte, we realized that we were talking with a “can-do” group.  We perceived that the Real Estate a la Carte team members would treat us like family and help us out to achieve our goal to liquidate without a distress sale.  I understand that this meant, to earn his commission and take our place, the listing agent himself scrubbed floors late at night to be ready for the next day’s “open house”.  After we decided to sign up with Real Estate a la Carte in late April, we heard that the entrenched real-estate professionals were not happy with Real Estate a la Carte or us.  We received our proceeds from the sale in about one month from the listing date on May 27, 2008.   We are happy to recommend Real Estate a la Carte.
